The King of the Clay is Back in Game
by Zivka Deleva
The boy with the geppard's rapidity, that can catch any possible ball on the court, triumphed once again on the French Open, after 11 months of vaccuum space for Master tournaments titles. The best sportman to be beaten couldn't stop his tears of luck, after the big period of non winning, and pain due to his knees ache. He cried like a boy, and no matter how funny that would look for the "big guys", that was so sincere, so deep from the heart. The fifth title on Roland Garros didn't bring him only one more trophy, but the World number 1 once again. He detroned his biggest rival Roger Federer, who didn't make it through the semi-finals. In the finals, Nadal was unchallanged! and defeated Soderling with a 6-4, 6-2, 6-4 win. The poor Swedish tennis player, Robin Soderling is going to stay in the history as the one that took the trophy from Nadal's hands last year and beated Federer at the semi-finals this year. Soderling was the guy that ended the intangible Nadal's results of 31 successive wins and four titles. Soderling's compatriot, the world known tennis commentator Mats Wilander and once World Number 1, at the end of the match, simply said, that it is bad that Soderling ever even thought that he could beat Nadal. With his fifth title, Nadal has surpassed the Swidish Bjorn Borg, that now has one title less. Maybe no one believed that the sportman that made the cold Federer cry on the Wimbledon finals two years ago, would return on the field, but he definately dissapointed the disbelievers. I am almost certain that one day some tennis court is going to be named after Nadal. He surely deserves that.
