Congratulations Mr. Webber!
by Barbora Misakova

Mark Alan Webber, as sounds his full name, can pride himself on his yesterday’s victory. This 33-year-old Australian Formula One driver has become the first Australian to win a race since Alan Jones in 1981. Webber made his Formula one debut in 2002 and his first F1 win was the 2009 German Grand Prix. It was followed by second places at the 2009 Chinese, Turkish and British Grands Prix. On Sunday’s Monaco Grand Prix he drove to an imperious victory ahead of Sebastian Vettel, his precocious young team-mate. This young Australian led Sunday’s drive from start to finish what lifted him to the top of the drivers standing on 78 points. He became the first Austr! alian victor on the famous Mediterranean street circuit, what is also information suitable for curriculum vitae. The fourth win of his career and second win this year must be pleasure not only for him as a driver but also for the whole team. Red Bull team then has also a reason for celebration as it was their third one-two triumph in succession and their fourth in six races this year. As Webber himself told his team over the team radio: “Unbelievable. Thank you. You deserve every bit of this. The car is fantastic.” Vettel was unable to mount a challenge to his partner’s supremacy and came home a comfortable seconds. Pole Robert Kubica in Renault win third place. And even though I have never been into Formula One that much, any kind of victory and human success just pleases me. So congrats, Mr. Webber!
