Rider Cancellara - cheating or not?

The Olympic time-trial champion Fabian Cancellara from the Saxo Bank team is been blamed that used ‘motorized’ bike on the Tour of Flanders and Paris-Roubaix classics in April. This champion is so surprised that can’t believe that this is happening to him. The accusation came from the former professional cyclist Davide Cassani that showed that his colleague used a button to operate a device hidden within the gear levers. He informed the International Cycling Union on this issue and gave them a video with Cancellara’s suspicious slips of his right hand. "It's so stupid I'm speechless. I've never had batteries on my bike. It's a sad and really outrage! ous story. Believe me, my feats are the result of hard work" – said Canellara. After the Union had a meeting and looked for the so called evidences, the final answer was that there actually is no case against the rider that comes from Switzerland. Their attitude is that such a professional sportsman wouldn’t risk his chance for another title, and put black scars on his team, doing such a stupid gesture. The experts say that actually now it’s too late to find out whether there’s been an attempt for cheating, everything should have been done earlier. Maybe there should be bigger controls on riders in the future. Some want to believe, some don’t. A video clip on the YouTube looks pretty much real, but now it’s left on everyone to decide whom to believe. UCI officials think that they would have to implement a new regulation on the issue of using more technologies on the bikes, which is popular in the last five years. A man would do anythi! ng to get to what he wants!
