by Zivka Deleva
The world tennis number one the Swiss Roger Federer reached to the third round after defeated Colombian player Alejandro Falla with the score 7-6, 6-2, 6-4. There is nothing strange about this information, but something is happening with the best player that tennis courts have ever known. The actual champion of the Roland Garros, the title holder didn't go so easy with the left-hander world number 70, if we consider the 21 unforced errors he had made. That doesn't sound like him! Federer's next rival is the world 165, German Julian Reiser, with whom they haven't played till now, only once he had warmed up with few years ago. "A player like Falla needed the first set to ha! ve a chance of winning. He had a good first set where I made too many errors, but he was pushing me at the start. I knew the danger, it was a very tight first set and I was a little lucky" - Federer admitted. Unlike Federer, the other two tennis players that entered the third round, Jo-Wilfried Tsonga and Robin Soderling. The Swedish world 5 player, was the first that ever succeeded to defeat Nadal on French Open, last year. Soderling played one of the shortest matches in the history of the tournament, lasting 77 minutes. The record of 68 minutes went for Jan Kodes who defeated Zeljko Franulovic in the 1970 final. In the women's singles, the title holder Svetlana Kuznetsova who saved four match points from Germany world 41 Andrea Petkovic. She is meeting her compatriot Maria Kirilenko in the third round. Venus Williams won over Spain's Arantxa Parra Santonja. The rain in Paris is giving big trouble to the tennis players and delays the meetings. Danish blond Caroline ! Wozniacki in the third round is meeting Romanian Alexandra Dul! gheru.
