French fiasco back home

Not only the debt, floods, but the recent football debacle seems to be troubling French President Nicolas Sarkozy. 2006 World Cup silver team has returned back home with result equal to fiasco. France, one of the hottest favorites for the most prestigious Championship didn't even qualify from the basic group. Scoring two failures, one draw the team made no problem for Mexico and Uruguay to pass further the tournament. French players, however are facing media and public hell. The press, even politicians suddenly want to see the revenge and blood. “Traitors”, the term used by several newspapers and influential personas have to feel the consequences. Generally, the! team is blamed for lack of team spirit, throwing away national pride and dignity and acquisitive behavior. But the failure doesn't fall just upon players' heads, but point the shadow on the coach, Raymond Domenech who was still about to retire after this World Cup and the whole Football Federation where some resignations are more than expected.Domenech also created another scandal by refusing to shake hands with South Africa team's manager that even underlined selfish and corrupted morals in the French team.Although French President didn't speak publicly about the topic, he has summoned ministers to solve the situation. He was also to meet Thiery Henry who flew back home separately from the squad, on private audience.The players, however faced tough media criticism for failure were defended by Florent Malouda, the only one man scoring during the tournament. Malouda refused the accusation, the team was made up of “hooligans”, but accepted the responsibility for ! the performance.
