French team goes home

As a protest against expulsion of famous French striker Nicolas Anelka, his co-players refused to come for a training session on World Cup on Sunday. Player's protest forced a senior official of the French Football Federation to resign. The players released a statement in which they protest against exclusion of their striker. Nicolas Anelka was sent home after a foul-mouthed outburst during a match against Mexico. France was defeated in the game and faced elimination. The tension in a French team grew when the players traveled to the training pitch by bus, but refused to start the session as a protest against the expulsion. Consequently captain Patrice Evra quarreled with F! rance's fitness coach and coach Domenech had to intervene. In full view of TV cameras Duverne lost temper and threw his stopwatch towards the end of the pitch. After the incident, top French Football Federation official Jean-Louis Valentin resigned saying he was disgusted and ashamed and he added that it was a scandal not only for the federation and the team but also for the whole country. Players read the letter to journalists and then they filled the bus again and returned to hotel. Anelka was sent home because he did not want to apologize for his outburst at Domenech at half-time in match with Mexico. Tuesday French team had last chance to keep their position. But chaos and argument in the team influenced the game and France was defeated by South Africa 2-1. France's World Cup humiliation was complete. Patrice Evra apologized their fans for such a disappointment but promised to reveal what really happened inside of the French team.
