Nadal: a tennis wonder

As years go by, I have a feeling that not only technology is improving. Especially in the sport sphere there are still more sportsmen becoming wonders more and more quickly. Of course, some of them need help of amphetamines, but there are still some of them who stayed clear and became masters of their “trade”. Andre Agassi used to be a god of tennis courts, but now it seems he was already replaced. The full name of this successor is Rafael Nadal Parera known also simply as “Rafa”. This Spanish professional tennis player is currently ranked No. 3 in the world. Nadal has won six Grand Slam singles titles, gold medal in singles at the 2008 Olympics and ! 17 ATP masters Series tournaments. He was also part of the Spain Davis Cup team that won the finals in 2004 and 2009. His success on clay leads to nickname “The King of Clay”, but he is also known as “The Man from Majorca” or “The Matador”. But what is surprising me (and others) the most is his age: this guy is only 23-years old! At this year’s Rome Masters 1000 Nadal defeated David Ferrer (7-5, 6-2) what brought Rafael his 17th Masters title and put him on par with Andre Agassi although he was 34. Even though there were two rain delays that lengthen the match at four and a half hours, Nadal had no problems to lead it to victory. Nadal and Federer have been playing against each other since 2004 and this mutual rivalry is simply felt: the proof was their 2008 Wimbledon final which is still lauded as the greatest match of all time by many tennis critics.
