Button conquered Australia
by Zivka Deleva
The best British Formula One driver and a world champion, Jenson Button won the Australian Grand Prix! This race was for more characteristics weird. All the drivers seemed to be a little bit nervous because of the new F1 rules, but still that didn’t demotivate them to perform one of the most exciting races in the last decade. It is interesting that Button didn’t even have a good start, he was fourth, that slipped on the seventh place, but a little bit later he decided to change the tires and placed himself second. He took the leading 26-th leap after the leader of the race, Red Bull’s Sebastian Vettel failed to keep it. Robert Kubica from Renault finished ! second, excluding Felipe Massa. Button’s teammate Lewis Hamilton tried to finish fourth, but make it to the sixth. He accused his team for making a bad decision and changing his tyres. "It was one of the drives of my life. Unfortunately because of the strategy I got put back and then I drove my heart out today and I think I deserved better. Everyone else in front of me did one stop and I did two." Three world champion drivers collided with each other in the first corner at the start of the race. The drivers had pretty much variable weather conditions. "It was my call, it is a lot easier for the driver to feel the conditions. When I entered the pit-lane I thought I had made a catastrophic decision because it was soaking wet in the pit-lane, but once I got it going and up to speed the pace was pretty good" - said Button on the timing of his first stop. The race in Australia was the second one, after the season’s opener Bahrein.
