Budapest lives for the aquatic championship

The European swimming championship which is placed in Budapest is happening since 4 August, till 15 August. The 30-th aquatic championship as it is also called includes contests in four categories – open water, swimming, diving and synchronized swimming. Every swimmer in the European soil that means something is in Hungary these days. Among the biggest stars are the Hungarian Lazslo Cseh and Federica Pellegrini from Italy. Their location is the Danube, where they are about to swim. The biggest favorite for the Hungarian nation is with no doubt, the 24-year old Cseh. He is going to try to win the third consecutive title in the 200m individual medley and a fourth in t! he 400 m medley distance. This hero misses only one title, the most important in his collection – the Olympic Games title. That is held by no one else but US miracle Michael Phelps that has won 7 or 8 golden medals on the last Olympics in China. His colleague, the Italian Pellegrini is hoping to win the greatest award in the 200m and 400m freestyle events. In the both disciplines she already holds the world records. Four years ago, she didn’t succeeded to win the gold from French Laure Manaudou. One more star is a guest in Budapest – the 19-year old Frederick Bousquet will compete in the 50m freestyle. Four French swimmers will compete with him at the stage. I often ask myself, not only in this sport, but, how comes people like Phelps or tennis maestro Roger Federer still have the enthusiasm to go on and participate on another tournament or meeting when they have won everything? Maybe that is the pure love I am talking about.
