Another Obama's fiasco
by Zivka Deleva

US President Barack Obama is definitely aware of how low is his popularity and trust for his people, so he starts to think of all the possible ways to grip some attention. On the opening of the new baseball season in St.Louis, Missouri, on Monday he was the one to throw out the first ball. It is not like this is his original idea, he sonly thought what his predecessor about one hundred years ago has done, William Howard Taft. He started this tradition when he was Commander in Chief when he threw out the first peach at a Washington Senators game in 1910. After him, other presidents followed this gesture and gave it a go to the first ball from their seats. Those were Richard ! Nixon, Franklin D. Roosevelt. But, if you want to gain some attention, you must think of something more original. So, Obama decided to throw the ball from the rubber on the match between Washington Nationals and Philadelphia Phillies. OK, this as well wasn’t his idea, but Bill Clinton’s. Obama made a big deal out of something that is already seen. He made a fool of himself throwing the ball high and outside. But, once again, OK, we can forgive him this too. "I did not play organized baseball when I was a kid and so, you know, I think some of these natural moves aren't so natural to me," - he said TV later that evening. He admitted that he had practiced with an aide in the Rose Garden of the White House, and plus, he was dressed in the jacket of the Chicago White Sox. But, maybe the funniest or the saddest thing of all, was that when Obama was asked to say who’s his favorite baseball player, he just lifted the shoulders. And, you must agree, that is simp! ly something you can’t forgive to this man. All-round, ! this was another Obama’s fiascos.
