Lyon wins all-French quarter-final first leg against Bordeaux

Olympique Lyon is a winner of quarter-final clash in all-French Champions League that was held in Stade de Gerland in Lyon on Tuesday. Lyon, seven-times French champions, beat Bordeaux 3-1. The teams know each other very well and so the game did not give many surprises. The players played interesting and goluptious game. There was not a boring moment, the game was rich in goals and excitement. The home side Lyon started the game with strong offensive and Argentina Lisandro Lopez opened the scoring in the tenth minute. Bordeaux very promptly answered with their first goal, thanks to Chamakho the score was 1-1. But just before the break Lyon scored again and regained it! s leading position. In 32nd minute Bastos scored and the first half of the game finished 2-1 for Lyon. In the second half Gourcuff had good chance to change the score but it was Lyon again that scored in 77th minute. After Mathieu Chalme was penalized for blocking Aly Cissokho's shot, referee Felix Brych ordered spotkick and the third goal came from Lisandro Lopez. Lyon's coach Claude Puel realizes that his team is in good position but he also knows that the return leg on April 7 will be big challenge as well. The team will miss Lisandro and Bordeaux will have Aoua Diarru who is a good and important player. Coach of Bordeaux Laurent Blanc said his team had played good, but had done many mistakes in defensive. He underlined that the team played collectively, but in defensive they were very nervous. That might have been caused by many young and unexperienced players who were in the team.
