nternet sites still blocked for Olympic reporters

These days in the country in which live the most of world population arrangements to the biggest event it its history are culminating. Within 10 days Olympic Games will start there. Yes, China will be the stage of such significant affair for the first time in its history. It is really very stressful for organisers, but on the other hand it is very interesting even from one point of view. Usually these Games take place in democratic countries of the world, because of their history, but it will be completely different this year. When they took place in ancient Athens, there could be no wars that time because Olympic Games are the symbol of piece. It connects people, especially sportsmen, from all parts of the world, who can measure their vigour and smartness there and show their skills to spectators.

China has wanted to prove that although it is communistic country, it is capable to adjust such important and great event. Many people have now very much to do, because it isn’t easy to organise something like that. This also costs much money and is also stressful for organisers, people and politicians.

But of course some problems have occurred. Because China is non-democratic country, some people are very sceptic about the happening of the Games. Of course officials claim everything is alright, but it probably isn’t exact true. China is still under the control of some institutions and organisations of the world. And one of these organisations, Amnesty International, has uncovered very serious defects in four the most important things which China promised to fulfil.
Actually, China has broken some agreements and promises which it promised to fill when it seven years ago achieved the possibility of organising Olympic Games. One of those things is censorship of home and foreign media and Internet as well. There is blocked access to the Internet in Olympic media centres, so TV staffs are like disconnected with the headquarters. Also the site of Amnesty International is blocked thoroughly in the whole country. To another from unredeemed promises belong also the cancel of capital punishment, of retention without lawsuit and of pursuit of activists for human rights.

According to the announcement of Amnesty International, there must be many things gotten better, but those four are necessary for fluent and right continuance of the Games. It is because it is not acceptable to lead such Games in the spirit of oppression and pursuit.

So I hope it will change in the last week of preparation, because it will have probably really negative impact not only for China but also for Olympic Games by themselves…
