he real truth about gymnast’s age

China has finally won it first gold medal in women’s team gymnastics heavily beaten the United States girls. This all happened Wednesday. It is a great thing, China, congratulation! Well, it is another thing the one about the fair play and giving the real age of gymnast’s taking part in competition. And China has been questioned since then and there is a big thing to fight to reveal the real truth about the girls´ age.

Nine months before the Beijing Olympics, in November 2007, the Chinese government’s news agency called Xinhua revealed on its Web site the information that He Kexin was just 13. That was to the matter of another sport event- China’s Cities Games, taking part at that time. If it were true, it would mean that China’s medal is a big lie, because He Kexin could definitely not grow 3 years during nine months! It would make for China impossible to win, because all competitors at gymnastics have to be at least 16 in the year of the Olympics.

He Kexin is supposed to be one of China’s new stars. Her birthday is listed to 1st January 1992. Also some other girls´ age is under the suspicion- Yang Yilin and Jiang Yuyuan. According to the latest announcement by Chinese authorities, all three girls are old enough to legally take part at games. After the great final Wednesday, He told to reporters about her age: “My real age is 16. I don’t pay any attention to what everyone says.”

This all would be sound perfect, but there are some unclear action from the Xinhua agency, which Web site, where the report of 13-years- old gymnasts were publicized, was suddenly accessible, although just few hours before the final access the page was working and alright.

But International Gymnastics Federation also claims that everything is alright. So nothing left- just to trust them…Somebody has to know their real age, hasn’t it?
