The 24-year-old French Vincent Jay became the winner in the biathlon 10-kilometre sprint on Sunday with time of 24 minutes and 7.8 seconds. Jay ranked 40th in the World Cup sprint standings hit all his targets. "I was very lucky as far the weather conditions," said Jay referring to heavy snowfall slowing down his main rivals. "But the shooting was all my doing, and had nothing to do with the climate." The Norwegian ended up 12.2 seconds behind Vincent Jay, Jakov Fak was 14 seconds behind. Canadian Jean-Phillippe Le Guellec arrived sixth, which i! s the best result achieved by a Canadian male biathlete at any Olympics. "All in all, it was an awesome race, and I'm really happy," said right after the race Le Guellec, who was originally hoping for the top ten spot at best. "The crowd was behind me, reacting to each target and it was just awesome to feed off of them."
