Snowboard cross has become an official Olympic discipline in Torino, four years ago. So far, it has! had the same winner. The American Seth Wescott won both finals, leaving behind Mike Robertson of Canada, his team-mate Nate Holland who ended up on fourth place. Tony Ramoin arrived into the finish line after Holland couldn't balance and failed. It is the first important victory for 21 years-old Frenchman. Wescott is already 33 years-old and far more experienced, although his season was qualified as “average”. In December he injured his pelvis during a race in Colorado and couldn't walk for two weeks. According the press he was on pain-killers until late January (X Games tournament). Wescott said due injuries he wouldn't have started another Championship. Fortunately or not, the next point on the program were Olympic Games. He won the final only half board length against Robertson. As he said, he didn't missed the start – the crucial moment of whole ride.
