One step closer to the World Cup trophy

Soccer fans all over the world are more and more anxious as the greatest football competition is coming to an end and the winner of the title of World Champion. Who will be the lucky winner? There were 32 teams, 16 passed the next round, 8 entered the Quarter-finals and 4 are now set to fight for a place in the final round where two teams will clash to get the title. In the end only one nation will stand proud as champion. In the Quarter-finals some interesting turn of fates took place. The 5 times winner of the World Cup trophy, Brazil, was crushed by Netherlands with a score of 2:1. Although in the beginn! ing the South Americans seemed to dominate the field and head towards a sixth world crown, the Dutch did not give up and increased the pressure just to end up the game victorious. Wesley Sneijder was the man of the match and will definitely be taken into consideration by big league teams for his performance at this competition. Germany had an amazing 0-4 victory against Argentina, marking a fourth victory at the 2010 competition. Who will thus confront in the semi-finals? Netherlands is to meet Uruguay that barely managed to beat Ghana on penalties, while Germany will face in the Semi-finals Spain, this edition’s surprise. On the whole, Spain had a wonderful performance on the field with 28 goals, showing maturity and talent. Up to now, the bets have been placed on Netherlands and Germany to enter the finals and dispute the title, but things can change anytime as the 19th edition of the competition sh! owed.
