Michael Phelps breaks his own records

Michael Phelps, U.S. swimmer won the 200-meter freestyle today. He is amazing chap. In his 23-year old he won nine gold medals until now and his only individual loss was in Athens four years ago. He competed with Ian Thorpe and Pieter van den Hoogenband in 200-meter freestyle. It was called the Race of the Century. This time he won expressly. Then he told that he hated to lose and it motivated him to better feats. As early as he falls in the best sportsmen in the world. Together with Mark Spitz, Carl Lewis, Soviet gymnast Larysa Latynina and Finnish runner Paavo Nurmi. Michael Phelps is amazed, but he appreciates this honor.
Michael comes from Baltimore. He loves rap music, pimped-out cars and he swims in the pool like no other before him. Teammate Aaron Peirsol said that we can see something like that only once in a century. The head coach of the U.S. team sums up that it is his ability to race, to keep focused, to get excited when it is appropriate and calm down when it is appropriate. Every day Michael Phelps gets two massages and takes ice baths to help his body to recover from hard training. He likes eating big amounts of pasta and pizza between races. When it is time to race, there is no one better than he is.
In the 200-meter freestyle he competed together with South Korean Park Tae-hwan and his teammate Peter Vanderkaay. He led by a full body length in the middle of the race. He was nearly two seconds ahead. He touched in 1 minute, 42.96 seconds breaking his own world record of 1:43.86 seconds from last year championship. Phelps knew that Park was strong in the last 50 meters so he had to be fast and concentrated. He succeeded. It is expected that Phelps will obtain another two gold medals in the finals of the 200 butterfly and 800 free relay. In these disciplines he already holds world records.
