A consolation prize goes to Roger Federer after losing the number one position in world rankings. Rafael Nadal took the first position after winning the French Open 2010 tournament thus demoting Federer who received number one seed for the tournament Wimbledon that will start on June the 21st and last until July the 4th. Many tennis fans all over the world were looking forward to see Nadal and Federer in a match at the French Open, but that was not possible because Federer left the competition in the quarterfinals after being defeated by Robin Soderling who faced the Spaniard in the finals. N! ow everyone is looking forward to Wimbledon where hopefully the Swiss star will manage to wash away the shame and win the title once again. For the 2010 Wimbledon Championships the top seeds are Federer, Nadal and Novak Djokovic. Then on the following positions comes Britain's Andy Murray, Roddick who was defeated in an epic match last year by the Swiss star. In fact the rankings do not correspond to the positions the players hold in the world top seeds, the players’ achievement being taking into consideration more than the number of titles they hold. This year there are some interesting things to take place. For the first time in 30 years, Queen Elizabeth II is supposed to attend the matches that will take place on the 24th of June thus the players will have to bow or curtsy to Her Majesty sitting in the Royal Box upon entering and leaving the court. For the players the good news is th! at the prize has been raised to £1,000,000 as a result of! the pou nds depreciation against the euro and the dollar.
