Where are the bounds of possibility?

Two or three days ago I read one article about companies working at production of special swimwear and high competition between them. When the “swimwear” is sewed well, it can make swimmer faster and so improve his total output. There is no surprise, that this “swimming business” and especially so strong competition expanded also between swimmers themselves. But I was interested in something else. I was asking to myself: how long will be a man able to increase his power output? And is it still about real human power and abilities or only about some new technical comforts, which will move us forward? Just look at football players dying on the field! I! s that normal? According to researchers from Institute for Biomedical Research and Sports Epidemiology, the athletes fulfilled bounds of human possibilities on 99 percent. But is it really only about athletes? Sometimes I feel like that last 1 percent represents in reality even more chances for making new record and not only for runners but also other sportsmen. Latest news talks about some Jamaican record holder Usain Bolt. As I am not into sports so much I didn’t know that name, but nicknames such as “insane Bolt” or “Lightning Bolt” cleared it up. This 23 years old young man dealt with 200 meters on World Champs easily and not only on this year’s. Last year Bolt improved Michael Johnson’s performance that ran 200 meters in Atlanta (1996) in 19.32 seconds, Bolt managed it in 19.30. But on this year’s World Championship in Berlin he showed something what no one expected. Two hundred meters in 19.19 seconds! That made him not ! only world record holder, but also world and Olympic champion ! in both sprints, what none athlete achieved so far. Does belong Bolt to the lucky ones from “endless” 1 percent of possibilities or is it only about first-quality trainers?
