Ar spune francezii dupa Campionatele Europene de Inot care au avut loc anul acesta in Olanda la Eindhoven unde sprinterul lor Alain Bernard a reusit sa castige atat proba de stil liber 50m cat sic ea de o suta de metri. Inainte de Jocurile Olimpice care se vor tine la Beijing in august, europenii isi pregatesc pripriul campionat cautand sa doboare recorduri. Totul a inceput in 1926 la Budapesta si de atunci din doi in doi ani Ligue Européenne de Natation organizeaza camionatul. Categoriile sunt de obicei : stil liber (femei si barbati), spate, fata, fluturele, individual combinat, stafeta stil liber si stafeta combinat. Anul acesta de pe 13 pana pe 24 martie Eindhoven a fost locul unde s-au stability noi recorduri mondiale. Francezii au fost cei mai fericiti sin u degeaba pentru ca Alain Bernard a doborat trei recorduri in 3 zile. Primul a fost cel al olandezului Pieter van den Hoogenband- 47.84 secunde la 100m stil liber in 47.60. A doua zi, 22 martie, a coborat timpu la 47.50 si duminica a doborat recordul la 50 m stil liber stability de australianul Eamon Sullivan cu un timp uimitor de 21.50 secunde in semi-finala. Alti castigatori au fost Russia care a castigat 4x100m mixt la baieti. Angliala aceeasi proba femei si la 10 m platforma unde Tom Daley (13 ani) a reusit sa faca scufundari perfecte in probele 4 si 5. Olandezii au fost de asemenea premiati la categoria feminina. Uramtorul pas e Beijingul. Succes!
