Furry critters abound in Super Bowl Ads
by Zuzana Krskova
When we are talking about Super Bowl, we are also talking about ads, which are most watched, scrutinized and expensive. The prices for spots are rising every year and this year's 30- second spots on News Corp.'s Fox network broadcast were fletching as much as 2.7 million USD. Thanks to strong matchup between The New York Giants and The New England Patriots, it is expected, that the game would drew more then last year's 93 million viewers. FedEx Corp.'s get inspired by Hitchcock book "The Birds", when they underling entrusts shipping operations to a huge squadron of pigeons. Toyota Motor Corp. came up with the theme for its Corolla model. Young guy is placed in the drivers seat next to a sleeping family of badgers, that would hurt him, if awakened. The cannons firing around is no problem, because of the noise- blocking ability of the car, but young guy would have been better off putting his cell phone on vibrate. Pepsi Co Inc.'s Sobe Life Water brand brought out Naomi Campbell dancing with some lizards on Michael Jackson's '80s classic "Thriller". CareerBuilder.com, job- search site showed a bored female office worker, with her heart jumping out of her chest, struts down to the boss's office and jumps on the desk with a little sign saying- "I quit." The theme is- follow your hearth. Super Bowl has been always known for its ads, that are able to capture viewers almost as the competition itself.
