I'm a proud owner of the Playstation 2 and I even have some Nascar game but I've never heard of Daytona before.But I surfed around the internet and I did expand my knowledge that I wanna share with you in case you don't know what the whole thing is about either.So, Daytona 500 is a big race of America, it's actually called the great american race to be exact.Or you can call it the " Superbowl of Moto-sports ".It takes place every year since 1958 in Dayton Beach, Florida.You can expect 250 000 audience,a lot of stars and 43 drivers risking their lives. So high level of adrenaline,pure excitement and euphoric fans.The route is 500 miles long, that's about 805 km or if you want 200 rounds.And the prize Money is unbelievable 18,6 million dollars! "So If u wanna win a competition, it definitely has to be this one!" , says the 3 time Daytona Winner and 4 time Nascar Champion, Jeff Gordon.Even the US Senate declared the February, 17th for a " Race day in America ".In the rankings of the US Forbes magazine is " Daytona 500 " the 4th biggest sports event on the whole world, next to Super Bowl, Summer Olympic Games and Football European Championship.It's one of the most important Nascar races, it's the higlight of the whole Nascar season.You may know Jacques Villeneuve and Juan Pablo Montoya, the former F1 racers which are attending the competition as well.In this 50th historic running, the prize money went to a surprised and surprising winner Ryan Newman who drives for Dodge.If u have couple more minutes check out the offical Daytona homepage & it's quite impressive.
